Official, Neymar Uniformed Paris Saint-Germain
Neymar completed his move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the summer transfer market in 2017. With a value of 222 million euros (equivalent to Rp 3.4 trillion), the Brazilian star broke the world’s most expensive transfer record.
Neymar arrival information released through the official PSG site and Twitter account on Thursday (8/4/2017).
“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the arrival of Neymar Jr. On Thursday, the Brazilian striker signed a five-year contract,” the club’s official website said.
Hours earlier, Barcelona ensured that Neymar had left from Camp Nou. He activated the release clause contained in his contract.
“Neymar’s attorney came to the club’s office and made a payment of 222 million euros on behalf of the player regarding the termination of the contracts of both parties,” the official statement of Barcelona.
That is, Neymar can certainly break the record as the world’s most expensive soccer player, until UEFA said otherwise.
The world’s most expensive player record was held by Paul Pogba. Who moved from Juventus to Manchester United for 105 million euros.
Related to the move Neymar, UEFA also received reports related to the transfer operation of the Barcelona. Understandably, there is the possibility of violation of the rules of Financial Fair Play (FFP) by PSG considering the transfer fee is so great.
Considering the FFP also, La Liga had declared to refuse money enabling Neymar clause from PSG. Inevitably, Neymar directly pay it to Barcelona, not through La Liga first.
